Position
Summary:
The Director of People & Culture will lead a team of employees within the People & Culture department.
Working under the VP of People & Culture as a strategic thought partner, this role will be deeply involved in the People/Talent Strategy development for the organization.
This position will also manage the day-to-day activity and processes within the People & Culture department and work to develop and improve new or existing processes within the department.
The Director of People & Culture will also play a key role in overseeing several functions of the department such as Talent Management, Payroll, and Benefits.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Development o Work closely with the VP of People & Culture to help bring short to mid-term Strategic plans and vision to life.
Owning the operational planning and making recommendations to help execute plans and new processes to the Organization.
o Take the lead on developing the necessary systems adjustments/enhancements to be able to support the metrics/KPIs that will become central to the People Strategy and how we will measure success o Work with Senior Leaders as needed to help drive their alignment/support in initiatives and communicate and changes down to the Organization o Serve as strategic partner to leaders, providing support, council, and influence as needed; advocating for the employee and making sure decisions and communication aligns with the Company culture o Meet and conduct meetings as needed with all levels of management and employees to brief on new initiatives, new policies/process, or other ongoing developments that require alignment and open communication o Facilitate Yearly Performance Process and ensure reviews are being executed and submitted by all employees and company review guidelines are being met.
Work with VP of People & Culture to further develop and enhance our current process and align with Talent Strategy o Partner with VP of People & Culture to develop and implement DE&I strategy and initiatives o Collaborate and gather feedback from leaders to develop and facilitate Company training initiatives that match our Company's values and goals; providing valuable courses and programs to aid in employee development and performance o Identify any areas of improvement or gaps within current practices and process within the HR Department; suggest appropriate innovative measures for enhancing existing processes and systems/technology o Ensure Compensation practices are aligned to industry/market standards.
Research relevant data to aid in the development of competitive compensation packages to ensure the attraction of new talent and the retention of existing employees o Develop and take initiative to enhance our current New Hire Setup and Onboarding process People & Culture Team Oversight & Daily Management o Provide general support and leadership to the People & Culture team; main point of contact for questions and issues, escalating to VP as needed o Manage and provide Support and influence on Employee Relation Issues and guide leaders during Performance Improvement Plans; reporting any sensitive or legally concerning employee relation matters up to VP of People & Culture o High Level group benefits management and support; directly oversee and manage annual benefit audits.
Partner with benefits broker on renewal negotiations, plan changes, compliance requirements and serve as a benefit liaison for complex employee claims that require escalation to insurance carriers o Directly manage the People & Culture Manager and Talent Manager; provide coaching and direction as needed.
Partner on developmental opportunities to ensure growth and support them with their own direct reports o Manage and support day to day functions of team through coaching, problem solving, and answering questions; ensuring department operations are running efficiently and in line with department goals o Oversee organization's New Hire Setup and Onboarding processes; ensuring there is a smooth transition into the Company for all new hires.
Roll out any new initiatives and plans to People & Culture Team o Oversee organization's recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring process; working closely with Talent Manager to ensure all activity is aligned to approved headcount and budget plans.
Build strong relationships with outside any utilized recruiting agencies to negotiate contracts and ensure the Company's culture and compensation packages are properly communicated during the recruitment process o Oversee and support People & Culture Manager in Bi-Weekly process, aid in any high-level Payroll Issues, providing advice and coaching on how to resolve problems.
Partner with internal finance leaders and outside tax consultants on any complex payroll tax issue to guarantee Federal/State/Local tax compliance are followed o Oversee People & Culture Manager in employee leave's and provide support on any high level/complex or sensitive employee requests/events o Partner with TCCC Risk Team to ensure proper insurance reporting and procedures are followed; work with People & Culture Manager to ensure proper insurance reports and data are provided for annual renewals o Work with and align with TCCC Risk Team on developing a new Insurance Reporting strategy and process.
Communicate down to People & Culture Manager, to ensure an efficient handling of any Workers Compensation, Auto Incidents, or other various insurance claim reporting and management Compliance o Follow and ensure adherence to relevant internal and legal procedures o Comply with local, state, and federal legal requirements by studying new legislation and advising management on necessary actions o Assists with maintaining the company's compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) o Handle confidential documents and information; ensure compliance with record keeping requirements for retention Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required o 8
years of HR experience required o People Management experience required o Current or previous experience in an HR Manager role o Hands-on experience in all aspects of HR management o Strong analytical and project management skills o Excellent communication skills.
